Mission
The Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Simulation and Modeling (ACM SIGSIM) seeks the advancement of the state-of-the-art in simulation and modeling. Simulation and modeling cut across a broad range of interests. SIGSIM joins each year with a variety of other organizations in co-sponsoring premier conferences in the field.
Conference Activities
SIGSIM organizes the Principles of Advanced Discrete Simulation (PADS) Conference and is one of the four financial sponsors for the Winter Simulation Conference (WSC). In addition, SIGSIM supports additional simulation conferences as a technical advisor. SIGSIM is also conducting conferences in cooperation with other professional societies.
Journal Activities
The ACM Transactions on Modeling and Computer Simulation (TOMACS) is the home journal of SIGSIM.
Organization
ACM SIGSIM was founded in April 1969, and ever since has been enjoying the support of a large, active community and leadership. It continues to be a vibrant society backed by a dedicated pool of leaders and excellent financial health to serve the community.
