Association for Computing Machinery – Special Interest Group on Simulation and Modeling

The DEVS Student Award is in recognition of the pioneering work of Prof. Bernard P. Zeigler, whose foundational contributions to the Discrete Event System Specification (DEVS) theory have shaped modern modeling and simulation theory for over five decades. Prof. Zeigler’s vision continues to inspire new generations of researchers and practitioners worldwide.

Eligible are student papers that address innovative applications or contributions to DEVS that are submitted to the Winter Simulation Conference. The main author must be a student at the time of the submission of the paper.

The award is presented by SIGSIM and funded by contributions of Prof. Zeigler and RTSync.

The inaugural DEVS Student Award is presented to Vamsi Krishna Pendyala (Arizona State University) at the 2025 Windter Simulation Conference for work on temporal diffusion models from parallel DEVS models applied to semiconductor fabrication manufacturing systems.
